‘t o g e t h e r’ is an artistic collaboration between Eevi Kinnunen (FI/BE) and Olivia Ronzani (CH). ‘A Long Story About Our Baby’ is a stage piece coming out of this research project. The duo’s research during Covid -19 rose interest in drama as a tool for telling stories. Drama as sudden, striking, over-the-top, exaggerated, indulgent dynamic. Alongside the drama, queer family portraits and representations kept appearing. Eevi and Olivia started to wonder about a practice of queer mothering - finding ways to mother objects, animals, nature and people, finding more empathic ways of relating to the world. The duo accumulated material; movement, songs, texts, images and videos that now work as an inspirational pool and playground for ‘ A Long Story About Our Baby’ to be born from. At this moment, the piece is forming itself as a lesbian coming-of-age dance piece that uses drama as a core tool to share the journey of dreaming, exploring, and understanding queer family fantasies of the two performers.
